Our resort is conveniently located 65 miles from Mexico City Airport (MEX) and 35 from Toluca International Airport, (TLC) both major airports. A short drive (approximately 1 ½ hours) on national highways from Mexico City Airport brings you to the charming colonial village of Ixtapan de la Sal. (Toluca is 50 minutes). Guests ride comfortably in private air-conditioned vans past some of Mexico’s richest agricultural areas. In the distance are typical villages with colonial churches, set against dramatic mountains, snow capped in winter.

Airport Transfers

Mexico’s national highways mirror those of The United States, with well -maintained surfaces and frequent police-attended toll booths. The road to Ixtapan de la Sal is direct with good signage and up to date American style gas stations. Near our resort is the heart of Mexico’s colorful flower growing area and our town is the second home for many affluent Mexicans.

Long known for customer service, Ixtapan Spa Hotel and Golf Resort sends full time staff to meet all guests at both airports . The resort owns its own vehicles, all marked with the company logo and phone number. All drivers are full time employees and have guests’ names on printed manifests. Guests begin their vacation immediately with a friendly welcome from their Ixtapan Spa Hotel and Golf Resort driver.

(Please note that we also accommodate guests who experience severe flight delays or missed connections. Guests can telephone the resort directly to alert the office. On occasion there are additional costs for the replacement transfer, but taking care of our guests is always our top priority. )
Transfers are totally controlled by the resort not in taxis.
